Is that How You Speak to your Dentist?
When you call or message your dentist for an appointment, do you say things like “Rates” “Where r u” “Cum ovr now” ?
Or do you say something along the lines of, “Hi, I’m John Doe. I’m calling about your availability on 12/21. I can be reached at 555-555-5555, I’m requesting a tooth cleaning.” and read the dentist’s website thoroughly BEFORE making an appointment?
You know that when you contact a PROFESSIONAL in a rude manner, it reflects poorly upon you. The same applies here. I am a PROFESSIONAL and I expect respect from start to finish.
I routinely ignore poorly worded messages because it signifies a lack of effort and a lack of RESPECT. You would NEVER tolerate rudeness from a provider you select because you have options. I have options too, so if you find that your messages are routinely ignored and your e-mails remain unopened, stop to consider if the language you’re using is something you would use when calling your attorney, your dentist, your plumber or your banker.
Sometimes you’re nervous and worried about what to say. That’s why I included handy guides to make the appointment process as EASY as possible. You will get the fastest response and the most favorable response with a thoughtful and respectful e-mail.
